Answers to common questions about searching, listings, and using Halal Shops UK.
FAQ answers
Halal Shops UK is a UK directory for finding halal restaurants, takeaways, butchers, and grocers. You can search by shop name, city, or postcode and compare listings with hygiene ratings and halal status indicators where available.
Use the search bar on the homepage or browse page. Enter a shop name, city, or postcode, then refine results with filters and the map view. On supported browsers you can also search around your current location.
Listings may show halal indicators based on information supplied by the business or sourced from public registers. These are provided for guidance only — always confirm dietary requirements directly with the shop before ordering or visiting.
Where shown, Food Standards Agency (FSA) hygiene ratings are sourced from official public data. Ratings can change over time; check the FSA register or the business directly for the latest score.
Click "Claim listing" in the site header and follow the steps to claim your business. You may need an account to submit a claim and manage your listing after approval.
If you own or manage a business, claim your listing through the claim listing flow, then request edit access from My Account once approved. For corrections to another listing, use our contact form with the shop name, address, and details of what needs changing.
